As Cyprus moves forward with its plans to build a Liquefied Natural Gas terminal on the Island, Elias Neocleous & Co LLC is proud to have advised and assisted Abamba Limited, a consortium of global engineering firms EPCM Consultants SA (Pty) Ltd, Global Maritime Consultancy Limited and iX Engineers (Pty) Ltd,with the submission of their tender application to the Natural Gas Infrastructure Company (ETYFA) for the Engineer Supervision Contract for the project to develop the infrastructure to import Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) into the Republic of Cyprus.
The team of Abamba bring together vast experience in assisting leading governments and private-sector companies worldwide. The team boasts a broad range of expertise, including years of experience in offshore design and engineering in the Oil & Gas industry.
The LNG Terminal at Vasilikos Bay will include a floating unit for storage and re-gasification of the LNG (FSRU), a pier for the mooring of the floating unit, a pipeline on the pier and other relevant infrastructures. Co-financing for the project expenditure has been secured from the EU and the financial program for the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF). The development of this project marks an important milestone for the Republic of Cyprus in its energy development plans, and will lead to a reduction in both CO2 emissions and energy costs.
