Launch of Cyprus Department of Taxation’s new electronic ‘Tax Gateway’ service imminent.

The Taxation Department (the ‘Department’) has recently informed the Cyprus International Businesses Association that it expects its new electronic taxation service to be operational within days. The service will be known as the ‘Tax Gateway’ and access to it will be possible using the same usernames and passwords as utilized under the existing TAXISnet service. The aim of the Tax Gateway is to provide a central point via which all citizens, businesses and their representatives can gain information about debts owed and payments made to the Department. They will also be able to register self-assessment tax, temporary taxes and, withholding taxes. The service will also be able to make electronic payments through internet banking. A further update will be supplied when the Tax Gateway is live.
