Cyprus Shipping Deputy Ministry announces tender for subsidized ferry link between Greece and Cyprus

The Shipping Deputy Ministry of the Republic of Cyprus has launched a tender process for the establishment of a passenger maritime link between Cyprus and Greece which will operate under a public service obligation (SGEI – Service of General Economic Interest). The said passenger maritime link, will be serving Cyprus (departing from Limassol port or Larnaca port) and the Greek port of Piraeus (Terminal of Keratsini). It will operate for the transportation of passengers and of their private vehicles, with the possibility of introducing an intermediate call at one Greek island port on its way to its final destination. The service will be performed by a Ro-Pax vessel, flying an EU/EEA flag and complying with all international, community and national rules and regulations in respect of safety, security and environmental issues at all times.

The deadline for tender submissions is 12.00 on 29th January 2021.
