An article of our senior associate Xenia Kalogirou and our associate Ioannis Sidiropoulos has recently been published in the International Financial Law Review. The article addresses issues of Fintech under the prism of payment services. The authors report on the latest trends across the globe on these matters and present the insolvency aspect with a particular reference to the UK paradigm. They also analyse the developments in Cyprus, in relation to the digital payments and payments by card-based payment instrument. Furthermore they address the latest developments in the field of crypto-asset service providers regulation in our country and they also provide an insight into the draft Bill on “The Distributed Ledger Technology Law of 2021”.
