The 18th edition of Europe’s premier conference for Fraud, Asset Tracing and Recovery took place in Geneva on 14th and 15th March 2024. Organised by C5, this conference brought together international experts and thought leaders dedicated to combatting fraud and addressing insolvency issues. The event explored crucial topics such as the potential use of AI on asset recovery investigations; best practices for challenging asset freezes, seizures, confiscations, and restitution; the management of cross-border insolvency issues, amongst others.
Contributing to these conversations was Partner Costas Stamatiou who participated in a panel discussion on Contentious Cross-Border Insolvency & Restructuring: Acknowledgement and Enforcement of Insolvency in Foreign Jurisdictions. During the session, panellists provided updates on cross-border insolvency and restructuring lawsin different jurisdictions, including discussions on recognition of judgements, the utilisation of insolvency as mechanism for exposing fraud, and more.
