Empowering Civic Dialogue: Our Team at the 19th Session of the European Youth Parliament
1 min read
On Friday the 29th of August, our associates Elena Andreou and Emilios Charalambous were welcomed as committee experts at the 19th National Session of the European Youth Parliament Cyprus, a youth organization promoting active citizenship via education, for which Elias Neocleous & Co LLC is providing pro-bono legal services as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
Our team members had the chance to provide their legal insights on the topic of post-mortem personal data and their management, dividing into discussions with young people between the ages of 15-19 years on the ways the European Union should regulate the rights of deceased individuals in ways that respect both privacy and family rights.
Following the discussions and input from our experts, the delegation proceeded to prepare and finalise a resolution on the topic, under which they built upon the issues and their suggested solutions to fight this problem, exhibiting their critical thinking abilities on a demanding topic.
Our firm is honored to have had the opportunity to be standing by the youth and supporting initiatives that promote civic dialogue, democratic discussions and active citizenship, as a way to contributing back to society.
