Demetris Gregoriou
Biography
Demetris Gregoriou is an enthusiastic and dynamic lawyer in our Corporate and Commercial department. Having passed the BAR and completed his training at ENC in 2019, he was recruited as an Advocate/Associate within the firm and has since become an active next generation attorney in the firm’s employment, competition and corporate/commercial departments. His valuable experience in matters relating to Corporate and Commercial Law, Competition Law and Employment Law make him a valuable asset to the firm.
Demetris is an LLB graduate of the University of Nicosia and holds a Master in Business Administration. Demetris, specializes in Employment Law and Competition Law, amongst others, dealing with clients both nationally and internationally, and has been designated as a Next-Gen member of the Employment Law Alliance (ELA), representing the next generation of top employment lawyers in the Republic of Cyprus.
Demetris has significant experience in advising clients, mainly employers, on various local employment matters, such as hiring and termination and relevant terms and documentation, HR policies and best practices, health and safety, maternity and parental leave, social security obligations, posting of workers, remote working, issues of misclassifications, corporate reorganizations, and carrying out employment matters reviews for vendor or buyer due diligence reports as part of merger and acquisition projects. In addition, Demetris has been heavily involved in relevant adverse situations such as employment disputes, negotiating with trade unions, advising in redundancy procedures and preparing separation agreements.
As part of his continuous development, Demetris generally attends a number of employment (and other) related seminars and has even contributed as one of the key speakers and panelists in the annual webinar of the Employment Law Alliance titled “Europe Year in Review: UK & Western Europe” for 2021.
Moreover, Demetris is actively involved in advising high profile clients on corporate, commercial, tech, anti-trust and merger control matters, including the preparation and submission of notifications on the control of concentration between undertakings and representing high-profile clients before the Cyprus Competition for the Protection of Competition.

- Employment Law: advising clients, mainly employers, on various local employment matters, such as hiring and termination and relevant terms and documentation, HR policies and best practices, health and safety, maternity and parental leave, social security obligations, posting of workers, corporate reorganizations, and carrying out employment matters reviews for vendor or buyer due diligence reports as part of merger and acquisition projects. In addition, Demetris has been heavily involved in relevant adverse situations such as employment disputes including negotiating settlement packages, negotiating with trade unions , advising in redundancy procedures and preparing separation agreements and other termination related documents.
- Competition Law: Drafting and preparation of merger control notifications; Provision of Anti-Trust advice to clients.
- Corporate Law: Corporate administration services; registration of Companies; drafting of various company documents; advising clients on corporate law matters including, amongst others, resolving complex situations between directors and/or shareholders, directors’ duties, reduction of share capital, mergers of companies; carrying out due diligence exercises for companies relating to acquisitions and/or financing.
- Commercial Law: Advising high-profile client on a range of commercial, tech and regulatory matters, including electronic communications, licensing, consumer protection, agency, franchise and commercial contracts; drafting of commercial agreements.
