The Department of the Registrar of Companies and Intellectual Property (DRCIP) has issued a notification requiring all Cyprus-registered companies, SEs, and cooperatives to confirm their Beneficial Owner (UBO) and senior management data in the Beneficial Owners Register (BOR) between 1 October and 31 December 2025. This annual confirmation aligns with Cyprus’ AML obligations under EU directives and local law, and failure to comply will incur escalating daily fines up to €5,000. Organizations must verify ownership and control structures, including indirect interests, and may need legal or compliance support to navigate complex cases involving trusts, nominee shareholders, or multi-layered entities. Early preparation and thorough due diligence will ensure accurate, timely filings and ongoing compliance with Cyprus’ AML framework.
