Biography

Christiana Pyrkotou has extensive experience in civil, corporate and commercial litigation and dispute resolution with a particular emphasis on contract law, cross-border disputes for multinational enterprises, shareholder disputes, joint-venture disputes, derivative actions, international trade and torts, trusts, winding up proceedings, recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards and interlocutory orders.

Relevant Experience

  • Engaged in many large and complex court proceedings, including shareholder disputes, derivative actions and breach of trust agreements and fiduciary duties.
  • Advised and represented clients on a wide range of commercial law matters, including contract and tort law, recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards, trust law, winding up petitions and debt collection procedures, shareholders and partners disputes as well as jurisdiction matters.
  • Involved in high profile cross-border commercial cases concerning complex legal issues, including interlocutory proceedings regarding Mareva and other interim injunctions.
  • Advised foreign corporations and private individuals on litigation strategy aimed at preserving and recovering assets.
  • Advised private individuals and negotiated with trading companies regulated by CySec.
