BIOGRAPHY

Ioannis Sidiropoulos has focused on issues of corporate, insolvency and investment law. During his engagement with our firm, he has assisted in substantial transactions involving international law firms, institutional financiers and international commercial and development banks.

He has also taken up the role of the coordinator of our firm’s Publications team, producing legal analysis material, dealing with issues of legal marketing and preparing various presentations of the firm’s services for the media.

In parallel, he is a guest staff member of the Leiden University Law School, in the Netherlands.

  • Dealing with a wide range of commercial law matters, including corporate, insolvency, financial and banking law, issues of leasing and legal aspects of submission of financial statements
  • Drafting agreements, resolutions and schemes of arrangement
  • Got involved in a major project of the United Nations, on issues of legal protection in cases of environmental damages
  • Cyprus contributor for the Restructuring – Insolvency Q&A of the Doing Business 2021 project of the World Bank Group
  • Contributor to the Cyprus chapter of the ‘Taxation of Crypto Assets’ book, published by Wolters Kluwer
  • Contributor to the research of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in relation to EU Member states corporate reorganization regimes, offering information / answers on Cyprus.
  • Contributor to the ‘’Münchener Kommentar zur Insolvenzordnung - Band 4’’ book, on issues of Cyprus insolvency law, published by Beck Verlag
  • Contributor to the research of the UK Insolvency Service in relation to post-Brexit aspects of cross-border insolvencies
  • Assisted in the transfer and the handling of all corporate and regulatory matters of a foreign group of companies focused on Renewable Energy business, in Cyprus.
  • Organized and presented a seminar approved by the Cyprus Bar Association, on the topic of corporate distress and recovery.
