Biography
Maria is an Associate in the firm’s Corporate and Commercial, Private Client, and Financial Services and Regulation practices. She is involved in a diverse range of matters, spanning corporate law, private client advisory, foreign investment regulation, and international trust structures.
Her private client practice focuses on advising high-net-worth individuals and trustees on multi-jurisdictional trust arrangements, fiduciary duties, and compliance matters. In parallel, Maria is actively involved in corporate work, including company formation, ongoing maintenance, liquidation, and restructuring processes. She also contributes to financial services and regulatory matters, including in relation to foreign direct investment and investment funds. Finally, Maria maintains an interest in the tax dimensions that arise within these areas.
Relevant Experience
- Assists with a wide range of corporate matters, including the review and drafting of corporate and commercial documentation, as well as corporate governance considerations.
- Supports company-related work, including incorporations, ongoing maintenance, liquidation and restructuring processes, and liaising with foreign service providers where required.
- Contributes to private client matters involving high-net-worth individuals, including the administration of Cyprus International Trusts and other trust structures, and assists with related documentation and compliance considerations.
- Supports multi-jurisdictional corporate and trust matters, including cross-border structuring aspects.
- Assists with financial services and regulatory matters, including those relating to foreign direct investment and investment funds.
- Supports on tax-related matters concerning the tax residency of individuals and legal entities.
- Conducts legal research across corporate, fiduciary, foreign investment, and tax-related areas.
