Their primary purpose is to ensure equal treatment of parties, effective case management, and cost efficiency through active judicial oversight, cooperation, and the use of technology. Key innovations include Pre-Action Protocols that encourage early settlement and structured communication, as well as stricter case timetables to prevent delays while allowing reasonable leniency. Overall, the new CPRs mark a significant step toward a more organized, accessible, and efficient civil justice system in Cyprus, though their full impact continues to unfold.
