Elias Neocleous & Co LLC is pleased to announce its contribution to International Succession Laws, published by Bloomsbury Professional. The Cyprus chapter, authored by Elias Neocleous Managing Partner, Christos Vezouvios Partner, Annabella Antoniades Senior Associate and Adonis Zachariou Associate, was published online on 25 April 2026 as part of Issue 86 (April 2026).
The chapter provides a practical overview of Cyprus succession law, including forced heirship rules, intestacy, wills, probate and estate administration, cross-border succession issues, trusts, recognition of foreign trusts and judgments, and the tax treatment of estates. It also considers recent legislative developments, including the 2025 amendments to the Administration of Estates Law and the removal, from 1 January 2026, of the specific stamp duty regime previously applicable to Cyprus international trust instruments. The publication is intended to assist practitioners, private clients and advisers dealing with Cyprus succession, estate planning and cross-border private wealth matters.
